The japs treated me badly . We had labour from night till morning and got banana notes . We had to sing the national anthem of japan while facing japan's direction , We had to learn japanese ,We had to salute japanese soldiers , We had to hide from them ,We had to hide our valuebles from them, it was a dark time of singapore . No one dared to go out at night . Women was raped every second that you know . The people who don't obey dies on the spot . we had to listen to everything they say , one wrong word and will be considered our last sentence .

Bomb-Shells all around

I woke up in a canal. I must have been knocked out by swimming too much and the current must have brought me here. I was blur and had a empty stomach that when i knew that the British had surrendered when i was in the YMCA Building waiting for inspection. I was shocked and disappointed at the same time . If they fight on we may win the fight!!
Then i heard cannons shooting non-stop and  people were spreading rumours of people dying in the situation.
I asked a friendly local and he said that the causeway bridge was being blown up to delay the Japs from advancing in to singapore. Then something caught my eye , it was a flag that look like a Japanese flag , but this one has lines coming out of the middle.
I asked the local what's that , He replied with a disappointed voice '" Its the Syonan Flag ,.....ever science the British surrendered , Japanese came to all houses to hang this up as this is the symbol of singapore for now "

When we got closer , machine guns were heard then we were called off the truck to the shooting grounds i was very scared and i was blinded folded and i said my last prayer

The Sook ching massacre soon started people from the kempetai was patroling the areas and asking the chinese immigrants and the people who they belived that are anti-Japanese . we were called to the inspection barracks which is the YMCA building on stamford road and was held up there for days. Those who were called up by the japanese was investigated by the japs and some were told to go home and some got up to truck and never came back .
Soon after 2 days of waiting i was soon called out to be inspected. The guards were looking at me was i was a chinese and japs don't like chinese people.
They looked at me and never said anything , they just knoded to the others which are loading people to the trucks . I said with curiosity to one of the guards which brought me up the trucks " Where are you taking me to "they said nothing and scolded me in japanese i just followed the others and board the truck.

Churchill publicly announced Prince Of Wales and Repulse were being sent to Singapore to deter the Japanese. In response, Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto sent 36 Mitsubishi G4M bombers to reinforce the existing Mitsubishi G3M-equipped Kanoya Air Group and Genzan Air Group, whose pilots began training for an attack on the two capital ships.[15] Genzan Air Group was commanded by Lt Cdr Niichi Nakanishi, Kanoya Air Group by Lt Cdr Shichizo Miyauchi and Mihoro Air Group by Lt Hachiro Shoji.[16]Then the british ships Repulse and Prince Of Wales were attacked by the japanese by surprise and lost as they did not have air support.
